Wolfgang Schneider was born in 1970, he is an artist and writer, and lives in Vienna. He trained as a chef in Salzburg, and studied history, political science and philosophy at the University of Vienna. Schneider focuses on the connection between artistic and scientific methods and practice; working methods and media: communication- and process orientated projects in public/social sphere, photography, installation, video, performance and text. He was a member of the “trans wien” artist group from 1996 to 2000. Since 2000, his main focus has been on projects in cooperation with the artist Beatrix Zobl. Wolfgang Schneider’s favorite media is photography. Recently he concentrates the question how to visually “translate” processual work in the social sphere.
